Person talk:James Cutler (1)

An inline remark that belongs on talk page [6 January 2014]

jrich offered the following comment in-line WRT the disputed lineages item for James Cutler, which I have placed here:

[Thomas who? His will is provided showing 11 children and 2 step-children.]

Other than placing the title "Disputed Lineages" above the item, I am not responsible for it and have no opinion for or against it. My changes to this page are format related only.

I am sorry. I saw the addition of Disputed Lineages in the diff, and did not realize when I was looking at it in toto, that the comment pre-dated the heading. Apologies. Not on the talk page, because they often don't get answered...
Regarding the disputed lineage, then, I am going to remove it, along with the comment, on the grounds that "some say" is inappropriate genealogical commentary (the sources should be specified so they can be consulted and answered), and that the Thomas is not identified, nor what part of this page should be attributed to Thomas versus James, given the presence of the will and various records giving the name James, is not made clear. Therefore, it is difficult to understand and investigate. The author may perhaps wish to put it back if the additional information can be provided. --Jrich 20:17, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
If you're comfortable with the removal, then I gladly defer to your sense of the matter. --jrm03063 20:25, 6 January 2014 (UTC)

christening cleanup [21 July 2022]

I am removing the christening 1611 in "Blackfordby, Leicestershire, England" with description "Ashby La Zouch". It has no source and is at odds with sources saying he is from Sprowston. The birth (probably baptism and moved to that field) in 1605 needs citation, but at least it is supported roughly by sources giving that as his hometown. --Jrich 20:55, 6 January 2014 (UTC)

I am now removing the other Christening 21 May 1605 Sprowston, Norfolk, England because it is causing an error on the Data Quality Issue for events before birth. I can't find a source for this and no source was cited. --Jrich 02:10, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
