Hudson View Cemetery, Mechanicville, NY; Gravestone reads 1867 - 1937; per 1900 census he was a farmer in the town of Halfmoon, NY He m. Mechanicville (M. C?. parsonage), NY 2 Sep. 1886 MINNIE CORNELIA BAKER, daughter of Daniel and Cornelia (Howland) Baker, b. Halfmoon, NY 11 Oct. 1863 (1862 per 1900 census and stone at Baker Cemetery - but 1863 per Baker Book and stone at Hudson View Cemetery); d. Stillwater, NY 23 May 1945 (81y7m12d); bur. Hudson View Cemetery, Mechanicville, NY (Gravestone reads 1863 - 1944) Note - When James and Minnie married (James age 19) they moved into the little house down the lane. They lived there for a year before buying a larger farm on what is now called “Farm to Market Road”. Note - per The Daily Saratogian, February 15, 1907 - He had served 5 years as Assessor for the Town of Halfmoon, NY and was a dairy farmer who had a farm of 130 acres 1 ½ miles SW of Mechanicville, NY raising oats, rye, potatoes and corn !BIOGRAPHY: James I died while Mom (Laura) was in grade school (pneaumonia). Hosted Baker reunion in 1905 and 1921. Doris Cassedy explained that brothers James and Henry (Harry) had a milk route.
