    Funeral services for James Wesley Brightwell, 80, were held by Knell Mortuary with the rev. John Chaffin officiating. Burial was in Park Cemetery, Carthage, June 23.
    He owned and operated a store in Carthage for many years.
    Survivors include a son, Gordin; three sisters, Essie Clarkson, Protem, Mary Ann Rozell, Branson, and Lettie Lewis, Mt. Grove; two brothers, Claud, San Diego, and Hilary, Springfield; two-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
