Jack was a 1953 graduate of Noble Township High School, and was a US Army veteran. He married Carolyn S. Atkinson in Wabash on August 10, 1958. He worked for Dana Corporation, retiring after 30 years. Jack attended Grace Community Church in Marion, Indiana. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing. He also enjoyed traveling and has visited 48 states.
He is survived by his wife, four children, five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two brothers, Bernard Summers of Texas, and Bob (Joyce) Summers of Wabash. He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Ed Sneed, daughter-in-law, Linda Summers, six brothers, Morris, Ralph, Rex, Richard, Glen, and Jim Summers, and three sisters, Helen Roush, Phyllis Steele, and Judy Murphy.
