The following biography of Isaac Edwards is from: Carroll 1765-1815: The Settlements, By John Perry Alderman; Published by Alderman Books, 1985, p. 159-160 Isaac Edwards Isaac Edwards, born Dec. 7, 1799 and died May 16, 1889, was the youngest of old Isaac’s children. He married Mary Beamer on March 7, 1822; she was the daughter of Philip and Rhoda (Lundy) Beamer, born May 11, 1804 and died April 13, 1890. They had eleven children: (1) Eliza Edwards who married John W. Matthews in 1840. (2) Philip B. Edwards who married Susan E. Sink in 1845 and twice remarried. (3) Rosanna Edwards who married Israel Newman in 1844. (4) Joshua A. Edwards who married Margaret A. Phlegar in 1855. (5) Jonathan H. Edwards. (6) Charity C. Edwards who married Newell M. Edwards in 1850. (7) Absolom W. Edwards. (8) Mahala R. (10) Richard M. Edwards. (11) Friel S. Edwards.

The following is from 1850 census: Annotated, compiled by John P. Alderman (1979). This Isaac (1799-1889) was the youngest child of Isaac and Catherine, the first of the family. Isaac was raised on Little Reed and married in 1822, Mary Beamer (1804-1890) daughter of Philip and Rhoda (Lundy) Beamer. They raised eleven children, first on Little Reed near Hillsville and then in Pipers Gap. Isaac was the local auctioneer of his day and many of the old estate records show fees paid to him for "crying" the sale. 1860 Federal Census Carroll County VA 818/824 Isaac Edwards 60 m Farmer
