Parentage

Some researchers have placed Humphrey Madison as a son of John Madison and Elizabeth Minor, but it appears that he is the son of Thomas Madison and Johannah Buckner. Additional research may be necessary.

  • Page 295.--29th March, 1759. Humphrey Madison's appraisement, by James McCoy, Ralph Laverty, Alex. McElroy. Sold to Mary Madison.
  • Page 304.--15th May, 1770. John Madison's bond (with Thomas Madison) as guardian to Catherine Madison, orphan of Humphrey Madison.
