    Howard F. Thornton (c1793-1867) married in 1833, Ariana Charlotte Norris (1810-67), born at "Rosemont" in Berryville, Clarke County, Va. They farmed in Clarke County but later moved to Baltimore. Two children were Frances Hawes (c1835-) who married in 1854, Isaac Tyson III (c1833-), of Baltimore; and Jane R. Thornton (c1841-60)(unm.).
