Henrietta Esther McKenzie was born in 1851 at St Pancras in Middlesex, a northern suburb of London. She was the daughter of Mary McKenzie, formerly Gobby, and her husband Alexander McKenzie, a Scottish tailor.

Henrietta appears in the 1861 census living with her parents and siblings at 12 Munster Square in St Pancras. She has yet to be traced after the 1861 census.
