To all to whom these presents shall come, Greeting Know ye That we, for and in consideration of the sum of fifty shillings for every hundred acres hereby granted paid into our Treasury by Henry Stonesypher have given & Granted and by these presents to give and grant until the said Henry Stonesypher a Tract of Land containing Two hundred and Ninety eight acres, lying in our County of Rowan in the forks of the Yadkin on the Great branch beginning at a pine Stephen Green's corner on Edmond Hays's line runs South twelve chains to a __ said Hays's corner East twenty five chains to a Black Oak on sd. Hays's line South fourty nine chains to a hicory West fifty four Chains to a post Oak North sixty one chains to a Chesnut tree East twenty nine chains to the first station as by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear together with all Woods, Waters, Mines, Minerals, Hereitaments and appurtenances to the said Land belonging or appertaining: To hold to the said Henry Stonesypher his heirs and assignes forever yielding {?} and paying to us such forms of money yearly or otherwise as our General Assembly from ___ to ___ may derict. Provised always that the said Henry Stonesypher shall cause this Grant to be registered in the registor's office of our said County of Rowan within twelve months from the state hereby otherwise the same shall be void and of no effect. In Testimony when of we have caused our Great seal to be hereunto affixed. Witness Richard Caswell Esq. our Governor & c. at Kingston the Twenty first day of May in the fourth year of our Independence and in the year of our Lord 1780. [Signed] R.C. Caswell, No. 59.
