Helen was born 6aug1818 at Glasgow, daughter of Archibald HAMILTON of Woodside (1784-1860) and Margaret BOGLE (head of the Bogle family of Shettleston) (latter day saints, member submission, "Old country houses of the old Glasgow gentry"). . In 1841 Archibald Hamilton (b. 1786, outside county, merchant), Matilda (b. 1821, Lanarks) and Helen B. (b. 1831, Lanarks) were at 320 St. Vincent St., Barony (census). In 1861 Colin D. Donald (b. 1816 Glasgow), writer, wife Helen B. H. (b. 1819) and children Colin G. D. (b. 1855 Glasgow), Matilda M. (b. 1857), Archibald H. (b. 1859 and Helena M. (b.1860) lived at 10 Woodlands Terrace, Glasgow (ce). In 1871 Colin D. Donald (b. 1816 Glasgow), writer, and wife Helen B. and children Matilda M. (b. 1857) and Helene M. (b. 1860) lived at 5 Woodside Crescent, Glasgow (ce). Colin D. Donald, widow, writer, b. 1816 at Glasgow, daughter Matilda M. Donald, b. 1857 at Glasgow, son and law student Archd. H. Donald, b. 1859 at Glasgow, daughter Helena M. Donald, b. 1860 at Glasgow, and 5 servants lived at 200 Bath St., barony parish, in 1881 (ce). Presumably Helen Bogle Hamilton died before 1881.
