From records of deeds: FORBES, DAVID: smith in Dysart, m to Mgt Gourlay; Disp to eldest son, William, 2nd son, David, and eldest dau, Grizel Forbes (spouse of Robert Oswald, shipmaster in Dysart), whom failing, her sister, Isabel Forbes (yst dau); 22 May 1794 [B21/5/3 Pp 349-56] Grizel Forbes, widow of late Robert Oswald, shipmaster in Dysart, made a trust disposition and settlement in 1825, naming her daughter Margaret Oswald, wife of James Lumsden, as heir, and grandchildren James Junior, David, Grace, Janet and Robert Lumsden. James Dryburgh, grandfather of James Lumsden and William Lumsden, formerly merchant in Strathmiglo, now abroad, are mentioned and dispositions by Margaret Oswald and husband James Lumsden (dated 26oct1818),and by David Forbes Smith in Dysart and spouse Margaret Gourlay (17nov1789) are referred to (information from A.
