Isabel FORBES was born 30oct1760 at Dysart, Fife. Isabel died unmarried probably at a great age as the following shows. From “Decennial indexes to the services of heirs in Scotland 1700-1859”: Reg. 14feb1854. Rev. James Lumsden, Barry, to his grandaunt, Isobel Forbes, Dysart, heir of provision gen. An Isabella Forbes, Dysart, was buried 28jan1847 in south grave of Robert Oswald’s stone at Dysart, St. Denis (Fife FHS).

From records of deeds: FORBES, DAVID: smith in Dysart, m to Mgt Gourlay; Disp to eldest son, William, 2nd son, David, and eldest dau, Grizel Forbes (spouse of Robert Oswald, shipmaster in Dysart), whom failing, her sister, Isabel Forbes (yst dau); 22 May 1794 [B21/5/3 Pp 349-56]
