'Glen R. Wardwell, 55, died in Central Vermont Hospital in Berlin Sunday morning. He was born in Mount Holly Aug. 2, 1916, son of Sumner and Maude (Severance) Wardwell. He attended Woostock schools and was graduated from Woodstock High School in 1934. He was an accomplished violinist and played often with local minstrel shows. He was a member of the North Pomfret Congregational Church. Survivors include his widow, the former Barbara Miller, two daughters Mrs. Clifford Atwood of Woodstock and Mrs. Haro[ld?] Clark of Etna, N.H.; a stepson, Miller Spittle of Pomfret; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Roger Strong of Waterbury Center; four sisters, Mrs. Bessie Berg of Ira, Mrs. Marion Peoples of Westboro, and Mrs. Jessie Johnson and Mrs. June Whitcomb both of Woodstock; two brothers, Kenneth Wardwell and Ernest Wardwell, both of Woodstock, and 14 grandchildren. A memorial service was held in North Pomfret Congregational Church Wednesday at 8 pm. By the Rev. Doris Rikert. Contributions may be made to the Ottauquechee Health Center in Woodstock for the Glen Wardwell Memorial Fund.
