Interment: October 05, 2007 at Monona City Cemetery, Monona, IA Geraldine Mae “Gerry” Johnson, 77, Monona, Iowa, died Thursday, September 27, 2007, at Prairie Maison Care Center, Prairie du Chien, WI, following a brief illness. Gerry was born on June 29, 1930, rural Monona, Iowa, to Wyman and Charlotte (Kurdelmeier) Whittle. She graduated from Monona High School. Gerry was united in marriage to Alvin Johnson on November 10, 1948. Three children were born to this union. Gerry worked at Monona Wire and also Northern Engraving from many years until her retirement in 1995. She enjoyed fishing, needle work, puzzles, reading, gardening and flowers. Gerry loved spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her two children, Charlene Bacon, Monona and Brad Johnson, Fort Valley, VA; eight grandchildren, Christine (Brian) Schramel, Guttenberg, Aimee Bacon, Mason City, Amber (David) Johnson, Strasburg, VA, Aron Johnson, Portland, OR, Jesse Mochoruk, Strasburg, VA, Eric Johnson, Portland, OR, Caroline Johnson, Toms Brook, VA and Nicole Johnson, Toms Brook, VA; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Bruce (Carol) Whittle, Waterloo and one sister-in-law, Alice Schlitter, Bagley, WI.
