From the June 19, 1996, edition of the Postville (IA) Herald-Leader Charlotte Whittle Charlotte Anna Whittle, daughter of George and Caroline (Ihde) Kurdelmeyer, was born April 4, 1901, at Clayton Center, Iowa. She died Monday, June 10, 1996, at the Good Samaritan Center at Postville, Iowa. Charlotte was united in marriage to Wyman Whittle on September 19, 1928, at McGregor. She did restaurant work and housekeeping. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Wyman, who died in December of 1947; a son, Wesley Whittle; a grandson, James Johnson, and two brothers, William Kurdelmeyer and Arno Kurdelmeyer. Survivors include one daughter, Geraldine Johnson of Monona; one son and his wife, Bruce and Carol Whittle of Denver, Iowa; four grandchildren, Carlene Bacon, Brad Johnson and his wife, Valerie, Troy Whittle and wife Michelle, and Trina and husband Dave Chever; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cora Wagner of Postville and Roselyn Liddy of Littleport; one brother-in-law, Barney Whittle of Monona; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Friday, June 14, 1996, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Monona. Rev. Terry Hudson officiated. Organist was Mrs. Judy Walter. Pallbearers were Robert Kurdelmeyer, Brad Johnson, Cletus Althoff, Troy Whittle, A.D. Whittle and Marty Krambeer. Schultz's Funeral Home of Monona was in charge of arrangements.
