Captain George Sitwell Campbell Swinton was born on 10 May 1859.2 He is the son of Archibald Campbell Swinton of Kimmerghame and Georgina Caroline Sitwell.2 He married Elizabeth Ebsworth, daughter of Edward Henry Ebsworth, on 19 April 1895.2 He died on 17 January 1937 at age 77.2
He was educated Fettes and RMC.2 He was Captain HLI, memb LCC (chm 1912), chairman Delhi Town Planning Ctee 1912, March Pursuivant 1901–23, Albany Herald 1923–26, Lord Lyon King-of-Arms and Sec to the Order Thistle 1926–29, Companion, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of in 1901.2 He was Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) (London ) in 1926.2
