Archibald Campbell Swinton of Kimmerghame was born on 15 July 1812.1 He was the son of John Campbell Swinton of Kimmerghame and Catherine Rannie.2 He married Catherine Margaret Pringle, daughter of Sir John Pringle of Stichill, 5th Bt. and Emilia Anne Macleod, on 29 July 1845.1 He married Georgina Caroline Sitwell, daughter of Sir George Sitwell, 2nd Bt. and Susan Murray Tait, on 7 October 1856.2 He died on 27 November 1890 at age 78.1
