He is on the 1880 census, age 7 with parents in Valley, Polk Co., Ia. (ED 172, p 545 , fam #214/219) It appears he and sister Kittie were married on the same day. Kittie and spouse witnessed for George and Maggie, and they for Kittie and Carl. Maggie's parents were listed as B.F. and Mary (White) Crispin. The Crispins are seen intermarried with the Wilson/Friar family that is also seen marrying into the Rittgers family. Maggie's father, Benjamin S., was 82 on the 1910 census. He declares he and his parents were born in Pa. Maggie's mother, Mary L., 71, declares they have been married 50 years and she has born 12 children, 11 alive at this time. Mary was born in Oh., but declares her father born in NJ and her mother b. in Oh. Maggie's sister, Sarah, married Robert Friar and we see her parents in their home in Walnut Twp., Polk Co., Ia., on the 1900 census. (ED 112, p 4, fam #74/77) On the 1900 census we find in Grimes, Polk Co., Ia., Eugene, 27, a farmer, He and Maggie have been married 5 years and she has had one child, Harold D., age 1 on the census.(ED 112, p 290A, fam #151/151) In 1910, we see George, 37, farming in Precinct #1, Webster, Polk Co., Ia. With him is wife Margaret, 36. They have been married 14 years and she has had 3 children, two still alive and in the home. Also in home are her parents, Benjamin S., and Mary L., and nephew, Byron C. Crispin, 18.(ED 184, p 6B, fam#48/48) The 1920 census finds George E., 46, farming in Indian Creek Twp., Story Co., Ia. With him is wife Margaret, 46 . Both sons are still in the home and are laborers on their father's farm.(ED 193, p 10A, fa m #13/13) George died of cancer, and Family Story reports they are buried in Maxwell, Story Co.,Ia. Estate is in Story Co. Will book 7, p. 283. We have found only the ref to place, not the estate itself. In "Cemeteries of Washington Twp., Polk Co., Ia.", we find them listed in Peoria Cemetery, sec. CS, tier 8 row 3. Washington Twp., Polk Co., Ia.
