I, George Johnson of the County of fountain and the State of Indiana do make and publish this last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me at any time heretofore made. First, I direct that my body be decently interned and that my funeral be conducted in a manner -----fonding with my estate and situation in life and as to such worldly estte as it has pleased God to entrust me with; I dispose of the same with the following manners. First, I direct that all of my just debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon after my decease as possible out of the first money that shall come to the hands of my executor, and at my death to make a sale of the personal property and to pay one hundred dollars to my grandson Samuel Martin a cripple for education or clothing when my executor may think most advisable. Also one hundred dollars and a young mare to my grandson George Johnson as soon as he is twenty one years old, to be paid of the personal estate and not to infringe on any part of which I give to my wife Sarah hereinafter named. I direct and bequeath to my wife Sarah, two cows and all of my household goods and what and what money that may be found at my death. And at the death of my wife Sarah that my executor appoint two disinterested men to appraise the property that may be left and divide it equal among my children. I also bequeath to my wife Sarah the full possession and rents and profits of the Northwest Quarter of Section twelve in Township Twenty North of Range Eight West. Also the use of twenty acres of timberland in Vanburen Township in Fountain County, Indiana and at the death of my wife Sarah, I direct that my real estate be disposed of as follows: First, I bequeath to my daughter Louisa and to her children, Fifty acres of land. Forty acres being and lying in Fountain County, State of Indiana in Section Ten the South half of the East half of the Northeast Quarter in Range Eight West. Also ten acres laying in the Southwest corner of the South West Quarter of Section Eleven Township Twenty One Range Eight W. And to my daughter Margaret, I bequeath as follows: Twelve hundred dollars to be paid in twelve months after the death of my wife Sarah. And I authorize my executor to hold this money in land within the bounds of the State of Indiana and for the express benefit of Margaret and her children. And I further direct that James H. Martin and Clayborn Glover have nothing to do with my estate in no shape or form past, present or to come. I also bequeath to my sons Samuel C. Johnson and Andrew Johnson my home & farm including the twenty acres of timberland by each - - - - - them paying six hundred dollars to Margaret Glover within twelve months after the death of my wife Sarah. And I hereby ordain my son Samuel C. Johnson executor of this my last will and Testament in witness whereof I George Johnson the Testator have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and fifty six, and I direct that my Executor be reasonably compensated for his time and trouble. And now I do hereby certify, that I have equalized my property between my children and I am not indebted to any of them or my grandchildren up to this date.
