George was 6 foot 1 inch, 150 lbs. His sons inherited his height.

George married at age 18. He and Lola had 9 children.

He was a saw mill laborer until he became badly injured on the job. At age of 9, his eldest son went to work in the coal mines to support the family. By the 1930 census, George was not working and that son was now employed at the saw mill. (Interesting in that George registered for the "reserve" draft on April 27, 1942. This draft registration was popularly called the "old man's registration.)

George died 2 days after a cerebral vascular accident at age 76.
