We see George on the 1880 census, age 3 with his parents in Walnut, Dallas Co., Ia.(p 38, 311 /313) and on the 1885 Iowa state census, age 7, with parents in Walnut Twp.(#53/53) On the 1900 census, age 23, with parents.[ED 19, p 8B,fam #158/161] Maybelle was the daughter of James and Alice (Pettigrew) Pressley. After their marriage, they lived at "Hoff Settlement," Waukee, Dallas Co., Ia., then moved to the Pressley Farm, 2 miles west of Johnston, Ia., after 1903. By 1910 George, 33, is farming in Webster Twp., Polk Co., Ia. Wife Mabelle, 32, declares they have been married 7 years and she has born 2 children, both shown with them. On the census records, Maybelle reports that her parents were born in Ohio.(ED 189, p 6B, fam #55/55) In 1920, George, 43, continues farming in Webster Twp., Polk Co., Ia. Wife "Mary B.", 42, is caring for their three children as well as boarder John O'Brian, 54.(ED187, p10A, fam #62/6)
