On 1885 state census, age 2, with parents in Walnut Twp.(#53/53) He is on the 1900 census, age 17, with parents in Walnut Twp., Dallas Co., Ia.[ED 19, p. 8B, fam #158/161] From their marriage record we find that Ida is the daughter of Jerry & Eliza R. (Teeter) Grossman of Dallas Center, Dallas Co., Ia. On 1910 census, age 27, farming his own general farm in Granger, Dallas Co., Ia. She declares on the 1910 census that her father was born in Pa. and her mother born in Ill. Wife "Oda", 25, declares they have been married 3 years and she has born 2 children, both alive at this time. (ED 9, p 6A, fam #114/115) On 1920 census, age 37, farming in Grant Twp., "outside Granger City Limits", Dallas co., Ia. Wife Ida, 35, is caring for four children in the home.(ED 10, p. 7B, fam #157/ 162)
