 Francis Louis Carteaux, age 81, of 1426 Fletcher avenue, Fort Wayne,  a native of Pierceton and a former resident of Warsaw, died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday in the St. Joseph hospital, Fort Wayne, where he had been a patient since last Monday.  He had been ill two weeks.
 Mr. Carteaux was born in Pierceton and moved to Fort Wayne from Warsaw in 1913.  While in Warsaw, he was associated with his brother, the late A.F. (Gus) Carteaux in the operation of a meat market on West Market street in a room now occupied by the Warsaw Printing company.
 He was a member of the (St.) Andrew’s Catholic church in Fort Wayne, the Holy Name altar society, Sacred Heart league and an honorary lifetime member of the Butcher’s union.
 Surviving are five sons, Clarence, Athens, Ga., Theodore, Lawrence, Francis Jr. and Joseph, all of Fort Wayne; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
 Services will be held at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Mungovan & Sons funeral home in Fort Wayne and at 9 a.m. in the St. Andrew’s Catholic church with Rev. Msgr. Henry Hoerstman officiating.  Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery at Fort Wayne.
 Friends may call after 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
