Personal History

Francis Anderson [III], (second) son of Francis Anderson, Esq., and Mary[1] (Pelham), was baptized on 29 July 1711 in the parish of Broughton (by Brigg), Lincolnshire, England.[1] At his birth Francis was his father's only living son and heir apparent.

On 2 February 1747[/8] in the parish of Redbourne, England, Francis Anderson of Manby, Broughton (by Brigg) parish, and Ellen Carter of Redbourne were married.

Death and Probate

Francis Anderson died on 23 October 1758[4] and was buried on 25 October in the parish of Broughton.[2]

In his will dated 23 October 1758,[3] Francis Anderson of Manby bequeathed to his wife Eleanora Anderson £50 annually over and above the £200 annually settled on her by marriage articles. He also bequeathed to his three younger children £1000 each over and above the £2500 settled on them by marriage articles. His previously named wife and his brother Charles Anderson were appointed his executors, and they were granted £60 annually for the maintenance and education of the children until they attained the age of 21 years. The will was proved by the oath of his brother and administration was granted on 23 March 1763, at London, in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury.
