OBITUARY: Transcribed by William Custer Knight FOK0002/FOK0002A March 8, 1921 Sandersville Herald Sandersville,Washington,Georgia Death Of Mrs. Pipkin

A shadow of gloom rested over our

city on Tuesday when it became known that the Grim Reaper had claimed the gentle spirit of Mrs. Fannie Pipkin. Her long useful life of more than eighty years has left a lasting impression upon the hearts of all who knew her. To- gether with her sainted husband, Rev. P.J. Pipkin, she worked for the education and uplift of humanity and since the death of her husband Mrs. Pipkin has continued her influence for good. Quiet and unassuming, a type of the gentility of the Old South, Mrs. Pipkin was a true home maker. Hosts of friends esteemed her for her sweet amiable disposition and noble Christian character. One daughter, Mrs. George Franklin, is left to mourn the loss of a devoted mother and much sympathy is felt for her in her great sorrow. Truly "the death of the just is like the end of a beautiful day." And so the grave has its victory: It is but crossing with abated breath And with set face a little strip of sea To find the loved ones waiting on the shore More bealutiful, more precious than before.
