E. Bertine G. Shively

ORWELL - E. Bertine Gale Shively, 82, 10225 Dennison-Ashtabula Road, died 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2001, at St. Joseph Health Center.
She was born April 23, 1919, in Greene, a daughter of Jesse M. and Lylia C. Gardner Gale, and moved to Orwell 14 years ago from Warren.
A 1937 graduate of Mecca high School, Mrs. Shively attended Youngstown State University, and she and her husband owned and operated Shively Heating & Air Conditioning in Warren from 1951 to 1987.
She was a former volunteer for Meals on Wheels and enjoyed reading, quilting, flowers and traveling.
Beside her husband, Arthur J., whom she married May 20, 1939, she leaves a daughter, Judith Long of Houston; two sisters, Leora Brewster of Greene and Carol Jean Gale Szili of Warren; a brother, Franklin C. Gale of Greene; two grandsons; and two great-granddaughters.
A sister, Maxine Fenstermaker, is deceased.
There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Greenlawn Cemetery Chapel in Greene.
