White, DICTIONNAIRE GENEALOGIQUE DES FAMILLES ACADIENNES; 1636-1714; Moncton, New Brunswick, Centre d'Etudes Acadiennes, 1999, 2 vols.; pp. 184 & 1403; own copy. #1: [No parents or place of birth given for him.] !NAME: Massignon lists name as a diminutive of ROBIN (ROBERT), and was plentiful in the Central-Western part of France, under the form of ROBICHON and ROBUCON, but in the Acadian form of ROBICHEAU, the author has only located it in the Seigneurie of d'Aulnay. There, an Etienne ROBICHAU appeared in the parish registers of La Chaussee (Vienne). FATHER: Could his father have been the Louis ROBICHAUD, born about 1609 in LaSouche, France, who died 3 Jan 1649 at the age of 40 at l'Hotel Dieu, in Quebec; he was buried on 4 Jan 1649? !NAME-MARRIAGE-SON: Jerome Lepre, "The Acadians of Belle-Isle-en-Mer"; 1635-1767; NEW ORLEANS GENESIS, Vol. 34, no. 135 (Jul 1995); p. 331; Santa Cruz County Genealogical Society Library. His great-great grandson Pierre DOUCET gave a statement to the Mayor of Sauzon, Belle-Isle-en-Mer on 9 Mar 1767, and stated that Prudent ROBICHAULT [his great-grandfather] was the son of Charles (from France with his wife) and who settled at Port Royal and died there.
