Introducing Esther "Hetty" Smith of Columbus, Franklin Co, OH_____________________________________________ Sometime around 1810 Martin Luther Hawkins married Mary Sharp, daughter of Elizabeth Lindsay Culbertson Sharp and Matthew Sharp. After her death in 1859 he married Esther “Hetty” Smith Williams, the daughter of Nathaniel W. Smith and Rebecca Culbertson. Rebecca’s mother, Esther Culbertson, was a half sister to Martin Hawkins’ first wife Mary Sharp. The connection is through Elizabeth (Lindsay) Culbertson Sharp:
