Alfred H. Jones aged 63 years, a veteran of the Civil War, died yesterday at his residence, 264 Fisk Street. He was born at Liberty Avenue and Wood Street in 1844 and received his education in the public school of this city. In 1861 he moved to Lawrenceville, in which district he lived the greater part of his life. At the age of 16 he enlisted in Company B 63rd Regiment, PA Volunteers under the late General Alexander Hayes who at that time was colonel of the regiment. He participated in many enagements from Yorktown on the Virginia Peninsula to Chacellorsville where he was wounded in the right arm. He was a member of Post #41 GAR and one of its past commanders. He was also a member of Progressive Lodge #15, Ancient Order of the Mystic Chain.

Pretty Luncheon at Pattison Home

To honor Mrs. JS Martin formerly of this city and Mrs Dodds of Beaver Falls, Mrs. DC Pattison of the Youngstown Road gave a nicely appointed luncheon Wednesday at noon. The affair was a complete surprise to the honor guests but proved all the more enjoyable. The afternoon was spent in visiting and other pleasantries.

Funeral services for the late Mrs. Rebecca W. Jones, 91, who died Friday night in her home, 53 Division Street, Crafton, will be held this afternoon at 2:30 (PM) from the J. Herbert Hershberger Funeral Home, Crafton. Interment will be in Allegheny Cemetery.

The widow of the late Alfred H. Jones, Mrs. Jones lived the greater part of her life in the Lawrenceville District. She was the oldest living member of Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. A R Alford.
