Ellen Bryant was baptised on 15th November 1856 at Hinxworth in Hertfordshire, daughter of Patty Bryant, formerly Street, and her husband Thomas Bryant, a blacksmith. Ellen had a twin sister called Louisa. Sadly, Ellen died as a baby, being buried just eighteen days after her baptism.
