ELIZABETH migrated to America with her husband and all their children except David Karns (who was born in Ohio). In Tuscarawas County there are many people with the MAURER surname. Many were from Switzerland, but a connection has never been made. Several Tuscarawas County lines are from WALDGREHWEILER in the Palatinate, which was where many of the pioneers featured in "White Creek's" research have their origin. In Germany, the Maurer surname is most often found in the Palatinate, or in the southern regions of the country, bordering on Switzerland.

Elizabeth's last child was born in Ohio in 1838. It is not known what became of Elizabeth. The family was associated with the Zion's Congregation, but her death was not enumerated. She probably died before records were kept (beginning in 1850). No stone for her has been found in the Stone Creek Cemetery, nor does she appear in any indexes. In the map (below) the Stone Creek Cemetery is marked in GREEN.
