== Biography ==Elisha Bean is the son of Reverend James Bean and his third wife, Lydia (Hoag) Bean. Elisha was the pastor of a church in Poplin, New Hampshire. (The town of Poplin is now Freemont) Elisha inherited the farm of 100 acres from his father. It appears that he was married twice, first to Hebsibah Beebe, possibly the mother of his first child, James Bean, born January 24, 1780 and named for Elisha's father, which was the custom of the day. His other son, Jonathan, born February 28, 1785. became to be known as "Jonathan of Wilmot" and was the Justice of the Peace there. From his diary, we know that he was the son of Joanna Seavey and Elisha Bean, although we have not at this time found the record of his parent's marriage. Elisha's full family is unknown at this writing, except for two sons. That there were other children is known

Probable daughter Mary Bean Merrill
