    Mrs. Effie Slaughter
    Mrs. Effie Slaughter, 91, 1127 Iowa, died at 5:05AM Monday in Grady Memorial Hospital.

    Born April 2, 1871 in Lamar County, Texas, she came to Indian Territory in 1890 after marrying Eli Price Slaughter September 2, 1888. The couple established a home near Duncan and later moved to Beckham County near Elk City in 1900. They came to Chickasha in 1908. Slaughter died July 14, 1925. She was a member of Epworth Methodist Church.

    Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. R.W. McElreath, of the home address, Mrs. Iva Lamb and Mrs. Ina Claxton, Las Vegas, Nevada; five grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Othella Dyer, San Antonio; a half-sister, Mrs. Bill Grammer, Chillicothe, Texas and a half-brother, Tom Hindman, Pasadena, California.

    Services will be held at 2PM Thursday in the chapel of Browns Funeral Home with the Rev. Lymann Eggner, Pastor of Epworth Methodist Church, officiating.

    Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery."
