    Grandfather of Abilenians Dies in
    Ardmore, Okla
    Abilene relatives of J.K. Hindman, Confederate veteran who died yesterday at Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 69 went to Chillicothe today to attend the funeral rites set for this afternoon at 2 o'clock. Mr. Hindman was a retired Methodist minister. The service is to be held from the Methodist church.

    Mrs. Effie Slaughter of Chickasha, Oklahoma, a daughter of Mr. Hindman was visiting here with her children, Mrs. J.E. Claxton, Mrs. W.D. Adams and A.C. Slaughter, when notified of her father's death.She was accompanied to Chillicothe by her children and members of their families.

    Mr. Hindman is survived by his wife and five other children: L.D. Hindman and Mrs. Laura Grammer, Chillicothe; Tom Hindman, Alhambra, California; Mrs. Lura Hazelwood, Fort Worth and Mrs. Bruce Dyer, Tulia."
