"Tennessee native. First found in Jackson County, Alabama. James moved his family to Lamar County, Texas in 1858. He was married at least three times. His first wife was Margaret born in Alabama and the mother of his children. It is not known when she died or where she is buried.
His second and third wives had very similar names. The second was Margaret Mary and the third was Mary A.G.C. The location of his second wife's grave is also unknown."
