Pulaski Democrat, 9 Aug 1978: FORMER RESIDENT DECORATED WITH HONORS Edward A. Hilton was the recipient of a citation for conspicuous service from the State of New York signed by Gov. Hugh Carey and presented by Major Robert R. Fairchild. Hilton, now of Fulton, a technician fifth class, took part in the "Battle of the Bulge" and was wounded twice on the same day, Jan 11, 1945. He received the purple heart and was presented a Bronze Star as well as the Fame Medal, WWII Battle Stars, WWII Victory Medal and Combat Infantryman Badge. These awards were presented at a 30 year belated cermony at Flag Day exercises in June. Hilton was born in Orwell and was educated in local schools.

Syracuse Post-Standard, 9 Apr 1996: EDWARD A. HILTON Altmar-- Edward A. Hilton, 71, of South Albion Road died Monday at Lee Memorial Hospital, Fulton. A native of Orwell, Mr. Hilton lived 30 years in Fulton before moving to Altmar in 1990. He retired in 1987 after 29 years with Nestle Co., Fulton. His wife, the former Evelyn Martin, died in 1980. Surviving are his wife, Sola; three sons, James of Altmar, John of Syracuse and Edward of Mexico; a daughter, Joyce Carr of Fulton; 14 grandchildren;... Services will be... Thursday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell.
