DREW SAMBORNE, b. ca. 1450, d. Reading, 3 Jan. 1506/7; m. JOAN -, mentioned in his will. "Drue" Sambourne, Esq., of Reading, made his will 12 Dec. 1505, proved 24 Jan. 1506/7, naming his wife Joan and his brother Nicholas, whom he made overseer. Drew requested his body to be buried "within the chancel of the said church of our lady [Reading] where myne Anncetries [ancestors] lye." At his death, Drew held the manors of Lushill and Fernham from his father and Southcote, Buck hurst, and Pynsons from his mother. His heir was a granddaughter, Mar garet Samborne, age 5, daughter and heiress of his son William, deceased."
