WALTER SAMBORNE, d. after 17 Nov. 1529, when he made his will at New Windsor, Berkshire; m. JOAN-, mentioned in the will. During the pe riod 1515-1518, Margaret Wyndesore, Walter's grandniece, sued him over his claim to Sopworth. He was probably the Walter Samborne who was attacked on the road near White Waltham, Berks., where his gray gelding was taken from him on 25 July 1484, allegedly by Thomas Pytfyn alias Pytfeld of Reading, innholder.
