Corydon, according to the Webster Genealogy died at 17yrs in Albion, Orleans, NY. He is listed as the third child with a birthdate of 1851 which is 4 years after his father died. So assuming that is an error and he was the 3rd child, the birthdate would be about 1834. If 1834 is correct, he would have been 17 in 1851...but he did NOT die then!

1850 Census for Clarendon shows a 16yr old Corydon living with Norton Webster & his family

1855 NY State Census for Clarendon, Orleans Co. has son, Corydon, 21, b.Oneida Co.living with his mother, Rhoda Webster, farming.

1860 Census for Exeter Twp in Monroe Co., MI - Corydon Webster 26, b.NY is living with Asel Webster(his 1st cousin).

Probate Records for Orleans County (FHL #594216 p.55) - a Corydon Webster is named as one of the beneficiaries of Rhoda Webster's estate. According to the final settlement of March 15, 1869, seven heirs shared $347.41 (17.33 each) The money was distributed to: Amanda Gates, Angelina Sharp(might be Tharp or Thorp), Melinda Foster, Cornilia Lafleur, Clark Bateman, Corydon Webster & Sherman Webster. The document states that Clark Bateman and Corydon Webster are minors and must have guardians appointed. Who is this young Corydon?? Clark Bateman is the son of Ruth, who has died. As for the rest: Mary Ann has died. Amanda married Israel Gates. Angelina obviously has married someone named Sharp/Tharp??(not who the Genealogy said she married). Melinda is married to Cyrus Foster. Rhoda Cornelia has married someone named Lafleur. Sherman is executor of his mother's estate. And evidently, Coridon Webster had a son.

It seems that Corydon Webster married Caroline Spicer abt 1861-2, they had son, named him after his father & by 1865, Corydon has died & left Caroline a widow. Poss in the War?? Note; There are several Webster families in Kendall, close to the Spicers...but none are of our line & none called Corydon. So I feel that Caroline must have married our Corydon Webster.

Guardianship Papers filed in Orphans Court appointed on March 15, 1869, Carolyn Simmons, of Kendall, mother of Corydon J. Webster, as his guardian. I tracked down Caroline Simmons.

1865 State Census for Kendall shows Caroline Webster 27, Widow, b.Orleans Co, living with her parents Darius & Dorcas Spicer. She is listed as their daughter. With her is a grandson, Corydon J. Webster, 2yrs 1mo.

1869 -Corydon J. Webster, a minor, is beneficiary of Rhoda Webster's estate.

1870 Census for Kendall shows Caroline Simmons 31 married to Jessie Simmons 51, & with them is 8yr old 'Cordie' Webster.

1875 State Census for Kendall - Jesse Simmons 59(this man does NOT know his age!) and wife Caroline 37with one child: Clarance 3. Evidently Corydon has died??
