p 12 - ... his oldest child, Conrad Hess, was born in America, January 22, 1746...

p 30 - ... After the death of his wife, ..., Conrad made his home with his son, Joseph, at the old homestead at Springtown, the balance of his life. He died March 16, 1832, at the advanced age of 86 years. Like his father, Conrad was a very tall and muscular man, over six feet in heighth, of splendid physique, possessing enormous physical strength. He and his wife lie buried side by side in the Hess "corner" of the old graveyard at Springfield church, of which they were members. They raised a family of seven children, in size all fashioned after the original Hess patter: George, Elizabeth, Mary Magdalene, Joseph, Catherine, Margaret and Susanna.
