    Page 553 – Barbara, married to Sir Coll Lamont of Inneryne. Her husband, with consent of his parents, granted her a liferent charter of the lands of Inneryne and others, and an annuity in implement of the contract of marriage between him and her, which charter is dated 19 January 1610. He died about the year 1634. She was alive in 1642, and by her he had issue three sons and four daughters.

  3.   Sir Coll Lamont of that Ilk, in Lundy, Darryl. The Peerage: A genealogical survey of the peerage of Britain as well as the royal families of Europe.

    Sir Coll Lamont of that Ilk is the son of James Lamont of that Ilk and Moir MacLachlan.2 He married Barbara Sempill, daughter of Robert Sempill, 4th Lord Sempill and Lady Agnes Montgomerie, before 19 January 1610.1 He died circa 1634.2
    He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) in 1623.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) in 1630.1

  5.   Toward Castle was the home of the chiefs of Clan Lamont, although they were originally styled 'of Inveryne', a charter was granted in 1472 confirming them in possession of the lands at the South End of the East Cowal Peninsular and making those of Inveryne into a barony.
