!BIRTH-PARENTS-CENSUS-MARRIAGES-CHILDREN-BURIAL: Stephen A. White, DICTIONNAIRE GENEALOGIQUE DES FAMILLES ACADIENNES; 1636-1714; Moncton, New Brunswick, Centre d'Etudes Acadiennes, 1999, 2 vols.; pp. 917 & 924; own copy. #6:

!BIRTH-RESIDENCES-MARRIAGES-CHILDREN-BURIAL: Arsenault, H&G, p. 624 (Port Royal), settled at Grand Pré, with brother Antoine. Also on p. 1198 (Grand Pré). He married 3 times, 1st around 1684 to Catherine THIBODEAU; eleven children. He married 2nd around 1725 to Marie BABIN; 3rd at St. Charles des Mines on 15 May 1741 to Jeanne BELLEMERE, widow of Mathieu BRASSEUR. He lived at the river of Habitants; was buried at St. Charles des Mines on 4 Sep 1747.

Also p. 1134 (Grand Pré, 3rd wife's entry). Widower of Marie BABIN.

!MARRIAGE-NAME: Janet Jehn, CORRECTIONS & ADDITIONS TO ARSENAULT'S HISTOIRE ET GENEALOGIE DES ACADIENS; 1550-1850; Covington, KY, author, 1988; p. 29 (reference to p. 1198); own copy. Married to Catherine THIBODEAU, her name was Marie THIBODEAU, according to registers. Reference: Clarence d'ENTREMONT. [BEWARE: Claude's brother Antoine is also married to a Marie THIBODEAU, this one's sister. Confusion?]

!CENSUS: 1678, Port Royal, Acadia. The 10 unnamed children were ages 17 (boy, b. 1661; probably Antoine), 15 (girl, b. 1663; probably Madeleine), 14 (boy, b. 1664; probably Claude), 13 (girl, b. 1665; probably Cecile), 11 (girl, b. 1667; could be either Jean or René with misidentified gender), 5 (boy, b. 1673; possibly Marguerite with misidentified gender), 3 (girl, b. 1675; possibly Germain with misidentified gender), 2 (boy, b. 1676; possibly Jeanne with misidentified gender), and 1 (girl, b. 1677; possibly an infant Abraham with misidentified gender). The ages and genders of the oldest four children match other known information well, but the data for the younger children is conflicting. In addition to the notations above, at least two children appear to be missing: either Jean or René and Marie.

!CENSUS: 1686, Port Royal, Acadia, age 23, listed with parents. [A married son?]

Also on Baye des Mines, Acadia, [p. 28]. Age 23, living with Marie TIBAUDEAU [THIBODEAU] and 2 infants of one year. They have 12 cattle, no land listed.
