Syracuse Herald Journal, 31 January 1947: RAUT RITES ON SATURDAY Sylvan Beach-- Funeral services for Clarence W. Raut, who died in Oneida City Hospital Wednesday, will be held... at Camden... Saturday... Burial will be in McConnellsville Cemetery. Mr. Raut was born in McConnellsville Dec. 6, 1890, son of Augustus B. and Emma Ditton Raut and lived there until he married Mrs. Rana Hogan, Syracuse, Dec. 31, 1923. He lived in Syracuse until her death in 1930. Raut was a carpenter by trade and worked in and around Vienna. On Nov. 7, 1931 Mr. Raut married Miss Lena Durgee of Camden, and they lived in Rome five years, then for last nine years in Vienna. He attended First Church of Christ Scientist, Syracuse. Raut was a veteran of World War I. Surviving are his wife, three children, Dorothy Jane, James Augustus and David Clarence, all at home; two brothers, Frank and Berton Raut, both of Syracuse; one aunt Mrs. Rhoda Wandell, Vienna; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
