Present address is 2201 Woolsey St., Berkeley, California. Graduated from High School and entered Junior College at 15 years of age, spent a year at UC and due to financial difficulties, had to take my fourth year at San Jose State Teacher's College. Received AB degree and GC certificate from there June, 1930. John E. Wetenhall; lived 2201 Woolsey St, Berkeley, CA May 23, 1945 was last letter we had from her. At that time she was Claire Palmer Gambrill, c/o California State Highway patrol, Placerville, CA. At that time she had 2 children, a son 8 years old and a daughter 9 1/2. John W. Palmer was graduated from Barry High School in 1889; taught school in Cambridge, Texas for one year; graduated from Leland Stanford University. Palmer, who for the past year has taught the Cold Spring school, left Thursday morning for Berkeley accompanied by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Palmer and other relatives, where according to reports, she was to become the bride of Jack Wettenhall, of that city on Thursday evening. The couple filed a notice of their intention to wed several weeks ago. The bride will teach next year at the Missouri Flat school. Fitzgerald and Mrs. Bert Sweeney returned early this week from Berkeley where they attended the wedding of Miss Clare Palmer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Palmer, and Jack Wettinhall, of Berkeley. The ceremony was performed in the Chapel of the Flowers by the Rev. Kendall, foremerly of Placerville in the presence of relatives and friends. Follwoing a reception at the home of the bride-groom, the couple left on a wedding trip. Mrs. Gambill, who has been employed in the Division of Motor Vehicles for some time past, is a niece of County Superintendent and Mrs. E.J. Fitzgerald Mountain Democrat, Placerville, California December 6, 1945 Placerville Couple Wed Nov. 21 at Carson City Friends are learning of the marriage on November 21 at Carson City of Glenn Carter and Mrs. Clare Gambill. The couple have returned to Placerville and are making their home on Washington Street. Mrs. Carter is a niece of our county school superintendent and has been employed in the State highway patrol office. School Superintendent, Golden Oaks School District, for seven years, and principal of Golden Oaks School prior to that. She played the organ for many weddings, and is frequently mentioned in the wedding write-ups in the Placerville Mountain Democrat. References
