Palmer Funeral rites were held in the Diamond Springs Community church last Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Daisy Davenport Palmer, 66, who died June 16 at her home in Placerville. A lifetime resident of El Dorado county, she was born July 31, 1888 in Pleasant Valley and had been a school teacher in the county for years. Always an active participant in community affairs, Mrs. Palmer was a member of the Diamond Springs Community Church, the Chrysolite Rebekah Lodge No. 236 of Diamond Sprints, the Canton Auxiliary Chapter of Order of Eastern Star No. 499, the Business and Provessional Women and Native Daughters Parlor No. 12 of Placerville. She was the mother of Mrs. Glyenn Carter of Placerville, the sister of Mrs. E.J. Fitzgerald of Diamond Springs, James Davenport of Vallejo and William Davenport of St. Helena. She was survived by three grand-children and numerous nieces and nephews. The services were conducted by the Reverend John Dunlop and internment was in the Pleasant Valley cemetery. Per the legal notice in the Mountain Democrat, 21 July 1955 page 15 and 28 July , 1955 page 13, Clare Carter was appointed the executrix of her mother’s estate at a hearing on August 11, 1955.
