Pulaski Democrat, 21 May 1930: PINE MEADOW WOMAN PASSES Mrs. Chloe Kinney Gay, widow of the late William Gay, died at her home in Pine Meadows about 11 o'clock Tuesday night, May 13, following a period of declining health of nearly two years. Mrs. Gay was born in the Town of Albion in June 1851, a daughter of James and Ellen Kinney. For many years she has been a resident of the Pine Meadows district. She was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church of Pine Meadows and was an active worker in all branches of the church when her health would permit. She was the president of the Woman's Foreign and Home Missionary Society and will be greatly missed... Her husband died last Christmas day. Mrs. Gay is survived by four sons and four daughters: Geo. Haley, Pulaski and Silas Haley of Richland, children of a former marriage; Walter Gay of Richland; Wiley Gay of Pine Meadows; Mrs. Harry Himes of Glendale CA; Mrs. A.C. McChesney of Ricard; Mrs. Geo. March, Pulaski; and Mrs. Clarence Snow. Also a sister, Mrs. Mate Durgee of Pine Meadows and several grandchildren... The funeral was held from the home Friday afternoon, Rev. G.M. Sleeman of Altmar officiating. Burial was made in Williamstown. References
