Wife, Mary Jane "Jennie" Perry: In 1864 she moved with her husband from Indiana to Vermontville ... making the trip in a covered wagon, and over corduroy roads which made the trip none too pleasant, but which was characteristic of the many hardships and trials of pioneer years. Leaving the farm thirty years ago they moved to Charlotte, and three years later the husband passed away and since that time Mrs. Gunn has resided in this city, constantly widening the large circle of friends who gathered about her. Born 2 Sep 1840 in Missouri; 7 Jan 1916 in Charlotte, buried in same cemetery.
