BETTY L. STEECE MASON CITY - Betty L. Steece, 70, died Friday (Sept. 20, 2002) at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hogan- Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E. in Mason City, with Maj. Chuck Wright from the Mason City Salvation Army officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Highway 122 West, Mason City. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday and will continue one hour before the service on Monday at the funeral home The family requests that memorials be given to the Salvation Army or the Humane Society of North Iowa in memory of Betty L. Steece. Betty was born to Roscoe and Elsie Burgess on Feb. 13, 1932, at Mason City. Betty L. Butterfield was united in marriage to Spencer Steece on Sept. 8, 1979, at Albert Lea, Minn. Betty liked playing cards and bingo, and enjoyed her dog, Lacy. She also loved her many grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Spencer; three daughters, Donna Hall of Rockwell, Deloris Fox and her husband, Joseph, and Carol Jackson and her husband, Kenneth, all of Des Moines; two sons, Albert Luper Jr. and Michael Butterfield, both of Des Moines; three stepdaughters, Linda Willemssen and her husband, Dennis, of Charles City, Debra Fredrickson and her husband, Jeff, of Jewell, and Kathy Peters and her husband, Dave, of Dickens: three stepsons, Larry and Lyle Steece, both of Sioux Rapids, and Gary Steece and his wife, Luann, of Spencer; 23 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother, Jack Burgess, of Swaledale, and one sister, Joann Anderson, of Clear Lake. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; one son; five brothers, Bob, Dale, Jerry, Roscoe and Lorrenzo, and two sisters, Junelle and Lola. |
