In 1880, Bessie was living with her step-brothers Willie & Flora at the home of Thomas & Ella Dusing. Bessie married her cousin Camby "Box" Stottlemyer about 1894, and at least 7 children followed between 1896 and 1912. I can find no record of Bessieś exact date of death, but she outlived her sister "Sallie" who died in 1944, and was still alive in 1955 when she was the "oldest woman" attending the Stottlemyer reunion S4

Obituary

Mrs. Betty L. Stottlemyer, formerly of 116 Fairgrounds Avenue, died at the Gateway Convalescent Home yesterday at 7:10 PM, after a long illness, aged 84 years.

She was the widow of Camby Stottlemyer.

Born and reared in Wolfsville, she was the daughter of William and Mary [Myers] Shuff. Most of her life has been in Hagerstown.

She was a member of the First Christian Church.

Surviving our daughters, Mrs. Marion Lear, Mrs. Icia Anderson, Hagerstown; sons, Chester S., Charles E., Hagerstown; brother, Mrs. Fred Whitmyer, Hagerstown; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

The body was taken to the Suter -- Rouzer Funeral Home, where it may be viewed Thursday from 7 to 9 PM. The funeral will be held their Friday at 2 PM by the Rev. Harold A. Lehman, with interment in Mount Zion Cemetery, Mapleville.
