  2. The death date of 16 Jan 1773 comes from the cited website which gives no sources. It is not found in Palmer VRs, nor in any record on americanancestors.org or familysearch.org. There appears to be no probate file. Which begs the question: how could the website know it? See here which says he died in Salem, MA (not found in Salem records, either). Hampden deed Vol. 12, p. 220: 2 Jan 1773: Barnard McNitt of Palmer sells to John McNitt of Palmer 100 acres on which Barnard now dwells, originally granted to Barnard by the General Court in the second division.
